Many modern motorhomes are built for all-round use and after lockdowns and uncertainty over the last couple of years, it’s no wonder many owners will want to head off on a winter motorhome holiday this year and in 2022.
In last month’s community poll, we asked owners if they were planning a winter motorhome holiday, or a different kind of holiday without their pride and joy, or simply laying up their vehicle during the winter months.

After almost 200 votes, a mighty 76 percent of motorhomers polled said they were planning a well-earned winter motorhome holiday this year and into 2022.

And over a fifth (21 percent) of those who voted said they planned to go motorhoming in Europe this winter. If you’re planning a winter motorhome holiday in Europe make sure you check the latest travel advice regarding COVID testing and quarantine and vaccine requirements before you head off. And don’t forget a UK sticker for your motorhome or campervan and European motorhome insurance cover.
Just six percent of motorhome owners who voted in our poll said they would be staying at home during the winter months and leaving their motorhome laid up. Don’t forget to make sure you drain down your motorhome in the winter months if it’s not going to be used.
And only two percent of voters said they would be taking a break without their motorhome and staying in a hotel or B&B for a winter holiday.
