quotePeter Wilby, owner of Caravan Guard insurance, recently completed the 2008 Great Yorkshire Charity Bike Ride and raised over £2000 with the help of our staff and many caravan industry businesses.
The 70-mile bike ride on the 14th June from Wetherby to Filey, on the Yorkshire east coast, attracted around 1500 participants and will generate over £100,000 for worthwhile charities including Heart Research UK, Childline and St John Ambulance.
Peter Wilby commented: “As this is the 25th anniversary of the ride and as my rider number was the prestigious number one I was determined to beat my previous fundraising for this event. The sponsorship I have received from our staff and friends in the caravan industry has been fantastic and although donations are still coming in I have already broken my previous best of £2,000. I’ve participated in this event for the last 15 years and never raised as much money so I am delighted.”
