Top choice for checking you have a level caravan

Nobody wants to sleep or live in a caravan that’s not level. Achieving a level caravan is one of the first jobs when setting up your tourer.

But what do caravanners use to check they have a level caravan? We put it out to the vote and now we can reveal the results…

Top accessory for checking if you have a level caravan

After more than 500 votes, the top accessory for checking if your caravan is on the level was the humble spirit level with an 83 per cent share of the votes.

In at number two with a small eight per cent of the votes was a mobile phone app. There are quite a few caravan levelling apps on the market to download to your phone or you can simply use the spirit level function on your smartphone.

Just four per cent of caravanners who voted have an electronic levelling system fitted to their tourer, making levelling an absolute breeze. Some large caravans come with these fitted as standard or they can be retrofitted.

An even smaller, one per cent of voters told us they use a glass of water or other water containers to check if their tourer is level.

And four per cent of voters chose “Other” ways for levelling the caravan, such as a tennis ball on a flat surface.
