POLL NOW CLOSED – Thanks to everyone who voted
We all know the beauty of owning a motorhome or campervan is having the freedom to explore a variety of different places.
Whether you like to go to the beach, be out in the hills or close to the hustle and bustle of a busy city or town, you’ll be able to find a campsite to suit your wanderlust.
In this month’s community poll, we’d like to know your favourite campsite or stop-off destination. Is it the coast, the countryside or city culture for your top place to stop off?
We’ll report back your favourite motorhome campsite destinations in October 2021.
Happy motorhoming!
My wife and I have Motorhomed for some 16 yrs, we’ve always found the best times were close to water, the coast or inland near a lake. We’ve visited hundreds of sites from Cornwall to the Highlands and Isles of Scotland and the four sites that continually draw us back are:
1/ Seacroft Cromer, Norfolk, not only is this site next to Cromer a wonderful seaside resort, it is near coastal and inland trails and the site has a heated swimming pool and restaurant/clubhouse.
2/ Old Hartley, Nr Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, this is an elevated slightly terraced site with a view out to sea and centre stage is St Mary’s Lighthouse isolated from the beach but connected by a tidal walkway, there’s plenty to walk to and visit and great fish and chips nearby.
3/ Ferry Meadows Country Park, Nr Peterborough, Cambridgeshire (we call it fairy meadows it’s a wonderful place). The site has a number of lakes and a river bordering it, there are two cafes one a water sports centre, also there’s Nene Valley heritage steam railway taking you into Peterborough, as well as plenty of walks on good paths and other places to visit.
4/ St Neots, (Camping Club Site) This is a river side site and very close to riverside park, there’s rivers side walks or you can just chill out and watch the boats go by sometimes the dragon boats appear and of course there’s St Neots with its cafes, bars and restaurants.
Happy Motorhoming and enjoy.
