POLL NOW CLOSED – Thanks to everyone who voted
Winter caravanning appeals to many – and why not? The roads and campsites are quieter, it’s cheaper and you’re definitely making the most of your home on wheels! Plus, many modern tourers have grade 3 insulation meaning they keep warmer for longer.
But it pays to be prepared if you’re going to be caravanning in wet and cold weather. So, in this month’s community poll, we’d like to know what your top winter caravanning accessory is. We’ve made a start on some possible essentials but if yours isn’t on the list please feel free to add it in the other box below.
We’ll report back the results in November, along with a look at some top winter touring accessories.
And in the meantime why not check out our hot tips for winter touring in your caravan.
As always, feel free to add any comments below about which winter accessory you’ve chosen and why.

making sure the site you visit has a 16amp electric supply
I think a site with electric hook up is essential in winter conditions especially to keep the blown air heating on with a very low setting for overnight comfort. Done this type of camping in the heavy snow and it is very good and make sure you do have winter clothing as well. The Peak District in winter is ideal if you like walking in these conditions as well…….But be safe and make sure you do have the right gear to wear.
