A motorhome habitation area is pretty easy to keep warm – and in the summer months keeping it cool when the weather hots up can be achievable.
In last month’s community poll, we asked motorhome owners if they used an air conditioning unit to cool down, particularly when touring in warmer climes.
After hundreds of votes, we can now reveal the results…
More than half of voters (52 per cent) told us they didn’t use an air conditioning unit in their van – perhaps because they like to be off-grid or can achieve enough ventilation from throwing open the windows!
But almost a third did with 31 per cent of the votes. And a further 17 per cent said they were considering an air conditioning unit for their motorhome. If you’re one of these voters then why not check out our motorhome air conditioning gear guide and tips for keeping cool.
Some air conditioning units will need the use of an electric hook up, which might also put some owners off.
Ken Street told us he was rarely attached to mains electricity as all power was provided by two 110 amp leisure batteries charged by a solar panel.
“We wouldn’t want to give up being off grid or needing a generator for the sake of having an air conditioning unit,” he commented.
Thanks to everyone who voted and don’t forget to take part in this month’s poll.
