A Toyota Proace Matino campervan that was part of a text-to-win “Campervan and Staycation Goodies” prize package for BBC Children in Need’s 2020 Appeal has been presented to the lucky winner.
The Wellhouse Leisure Toyota Proace Matino campervan, worth £49,000, was jointly donated by Wellhouse Leisure and Toyota to BBC Children in Need’s 2020 Appeal, where it helped to raise £1,134,580.
The winner, Molly Dry, from London, loves camping and said she couldn’t believe she’d won.
“I don’t normally enter competitions, but the night I was watching BBC Children in Need, I said to a friend that I’d love a campervan, and she said go ahead and enter it then! I’m so glad I did, it’s pretty life-changing to have won. The prize package means I’ll be able to get to see a lot more of the UK, starting with my first visit to Cornwall in spring.”
The Toyota Proace Matino campervan, prepared by Wellhouse Leisure, is a four-berth model powered by a 2.0-litre, 120bhp turbodiesel engine and is perfect for comfortable holidays at any time of year.
The prize package also included £1,000 towards a year’s campervan insurance from Caravan Guard, outdoor sports equipment from Decathlon Sports with everything needed to enjoy an amazing trip (kayak, bikes, surfboards and even sledges); plus access to campsites, theme parks and wildlife attractions across the UK.
Molly received the keys to the campervan from David Elliott, CEO and founder of Wellhouse Leisure: “It was a pleasure to meet Molly and I’m delighted she’s already joined the Wellhouse Adventures Facebook group to get lots of tips from other owners. We’re sure she’s going to have a great time exploring the UK in her campervan.”
Our Director of Relations Neil Menzies said: “We were delighted to pay £1,000 towards Molly’s campervan insurance in support of the Children In Need Appeal and send her a steering wheel lock to help keep her new campervan secure. We hope she has many years of adventures in this fantastic, award-winning ‘van.”
