Press release from Auto-Trail
There can hardly be a better contender for the title “Family Motorhome of the Year” than the Carioca 707.
Built on the Fiat Ducato, Europe’s best-selling motorhome base vehicle, the 707 has seven belted seats and seven berths, making ideal for larger families or groups of friends who like to travel together.
So it’s hardly surprising that the panel judging the MMM Motorhome of the Year awards has named it their family motorhome for 2011.
The judges said: “A tough category, but at £38,500 the C-I hits the spot for both value and layout. There’s a full seven berths with travel seats to match. The big overcab bed can be used by adults and because of the layout can be accessed even when the lounge beds are made up. You can put small kids to bed at night – in the bunks at the very rear of the ‘van – and still relax in the lounge. Handily, the lower bunk can be flipped up to create storage for bulky items. A large, practical, great-value, family motorhome.”
As well as the twin bunk beds and double bed over the cab, the 707 has a further double in the centre living area and a further single bed opposite. On the offside of the vehicle is a kitchen, with a spacious shower room opposite, alongside a wardrobe. There are ample extra storage lockers at head height along each side of the body.
“There’s a wide choice of motorhomes with plenty of sleeping berths, although seven is still a rarity,” says Scott Stephens, General Sales and Marketing Manager for Auto-Trail, the UK agent of C-I and its sister Roller Team brands.
“But what sets the Carioca, and its Auto-Roller 707 sister model, apart is that everyone who sleeps in the vehicle can also travel in it during the day because they have use of a fully belted seat.
“Often, motorhomes have more sleeping and seating space than usable travel seats and for many owners this is fine. But for owners wanting to carry passengers, the choice is much more limited.
“The 707 offers a perfect combination and eliminates the need for people in the holiday group to travel separately or take the unacceptable risk of travelling in an unrestrained seat, which places them and their fellow passengers in great danger should there be an accident.
“It’s seldom that a motorhome has better lived up to a description of it, but the 707 fulfils the family motorhome role with pride, and at affordable prices, too.”
Visit Stand 3160 at the NEC in February to judge the C-I and Roller Team motorhomes on display. They will also feature at shows around the UK throughout the year and the extensive dealer network has display models available.
