From LED lights to lamps, fairy lights, clip-on lights and lanterns, there are many ways caravanners like to light up their camping life!
And the results of our recent poll prove that sundown certainly doesn’t stop play when it comes to extra illumination in owners’ caravans or awnings.
Last month we asked caravanners if they use extra lighting in their caravan or awning and after 230 votes we can now bring you the results…
Caravanners lighting choices
A massive 84 percent of caravanners told us they use extra lighting when on their touring holidays.
Taking the leading light was LED strip lights with 29 percent of the votes. They’re extremely versatile and are great for around your caravan awning or awning rail, under worktops, cupboards, or around mirrors. We’ve even seen them wrapped around a flag pole for night-time illumination!
In second place with just over a quarter of the votes was the humble lamp, which can be used inside your tourer or in the awning for some soft light and added ambience.
Flashing into third place was fairy lights with 24 percent of the votes. Again, these can be used inside or outside your awning, or inside your ‘van for an added bit of sparkle! They’re also great for helping you find your caravan at night.
There are many ways to brighten up your awning – a hanging light here took the fourth spot with 21 percent of the votes, followed by clip-on lights with 13 percent of the votes.
A good old-fashioned lantern glowed into sixth place with rope lights beaming in behind.
Other extra lighting which made the top ten included solar lights, LED worklight and LED COB torch – all will help to avoid a trip when on your way back to the caravan when it’s dark.
Only sixteen percent of voters gave a no glow to extra caravan lighting!
