Designed for the next generation
Six models make up the Autograph motorhome range for the 2017 season and Bailey predict it to be their best and most popular motorhome yet.
Initially the new Autograph range will feature the two most popular layouts from the previous series, along with four exciting new additions.
All Autograph models have been given new names using a number sequence to identify its length and number of passenger seats (e.g. the 75-2 model is 7.5 metres long and capable of transporting two people). In certain cases a suffix letter has been added to signify the layout type. You’ll soon get the hang of it!
The soon-to-be-seen models are;
- Autograph 75-2. A 4 berth low-line end-bedroom with longitudinal fixed double bed (formerly the Approach Autograph 740 model)
- Autograph 75-4. A 4 berth low-line end-bedroom with longitudinal fixed double bed and designated travelling seats (formerly the Approach Autograph 745 model)
The new models are;
- Autograph 79-4T. A 4 berth low-line end-bedroom with twin fixed single beds, designated travelling seats and rear storage locker.
- Autograph 79-4. A 4 berth low-line end-bedroom with longitudinal fixed double island bed, designated travelling seats and rear storage locker.
- Autograph 79-6. A 6 berth low-line end-lounge, front transverse drop down double bed and designated travelling seats.
All of the above will be on show in August at approved Bailey retailers. But the Autograph 79-6G – 6 berth low-line end-bedroom with rear transverse fixed double bed, front transverse drop-down double bed, designated travelling seats and rear storage garage -the last one in the range – will make its debut at the Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC Birmingham in October.
Bailey promise superb on-the-road performance, with all models featuring the Peugeot Boxer Euro 6 cab, powered by a 2.0 Blue Hdi 160 bhp engine, complete with a 6-speed manual gearbox, AL-KO AMC chassis and the Alu-Tech bodyshell as standard.
Exterior improvements include new ‘Aero Style’ Fiamma F45S wind-out awning and a new exterior gas BBQ point – perfect for al fresco dining and cooking!
There’s also a large ‘Aero Style’ double glazed, opening sky view over-cab window, with pleated night blind, and a Truma 100-watt solar panel. Plus the re-designed back panel has recessed LED lighting for that contemporary look.
Interior enhancements include new ‘DreamSleep’ multi-layered lounge seat base cushions for greater comfort and easier bed make-up, DreamSleep’ domestic style lounge backrests and ‘DreamSleep’ mattress (where appropriate) with honeycore foam construction and breathable anti-bacterial ultimate freshness fabric.
The kitchen has a new basalt stone finish ‘self-healing’ worktop and a new Thetford Duplex combined oven and grill, along with a dual-fuel hob with electric hotplate and three gas burners.
Bailey has also introduced new 12V lighting, ambient lights and low-level task lighting.
There’s also a wealth of optional upgrades available, which will get you a small insurance discount for the safety feature of a reversing camera . Upgrades include:
15” or 16” graphite alloy wheels (model specific); a basic factory fitted media pack (Waeco reversing camera and dashboard mounted screen, Status 550 telescopic directional digital television aerial and 19” Avtex digital television (12v or 240V) mounted in front lounge).
But if you want bells and whistles go for the factory fitted Media Pack Plus (Branded 6.5” touch-screen head unit incorporating reversing camera screen, Waeco reversing camera, Status 550 telescopic directional digital television aerial, 19” Avtex digital television (12v or 240V) mounted in front lounge, 24” Avtex digital television with DVD player (12v or 240V) mounted in rear bedroom, Branded 300W lounge speakers, Branded portable Bluetooth awning speaker) .
Bailey tell us that the new Autograph range is the result of one of the most comprehensive and rigorous design reviews of its kind – with 28 people working a total of 13,500 man hours and generating 126,000 3-D CAD computer files.

I’ve just got a bailey 796 year 2017 I have some water comeing in though the roof can you help would be much appreciated
Hi Susan, you would need to speak to the dealership where you bought it or Bailey Customer Services: http://www.baileyofbristol.co.uk/contact-us
anyone have an email address for customer care for Bailey
Hi Colin, here’s a link to Bailey’s contact us page: https://www.baileyofbristol.co.uk/contact-us
Lovely vehicle all round – ticks nearly all the boxes apart from an automatic transmission !!!
lovely motorhome but concerned about width and site access issues
is this motorhome to wide for some sites please advise
It’s always worth checking with your site what the access is like before booking, but many will accommodate large motorhomes.
We have just taken delivery of the 79-4 around 8 weeks ago. We had the same problem with wind noise from the window above the cab. We had arranged for the dealer to resolve this for us. However, on closer inspection, we realised there are 2 location settings on the window openers. We adjusted the windows to the second setting and resolved the wind noise. Might be worth checking you are using the right locaters.
Thanks for sharing the tip John.
Can anyone advise how to stop the whistling wind noise coming from top window above cab on driving. We only were travelling at speed of 40 to 45 mph it driving me mad. We have new 796. We tried closing blind no difference the window is shut as well.
You could try contacting Bailey to see if they can help: [email protected]
Is there enough space on the roof of the 75-2 Autograph for an 85cm Oyster Dish?
Hi Keith, in theory there’s enough space on the roof of an Autograph 75-2 motorhome to accommodate an 85cm Oyster dish, however as Bailey do not fit this item it would be worth contacting the manufacturer to confirm the installation requirements.
I would like two rear cameras fitted , one which shows the road behind whilst driving. Is that an option?
Hi Keith, We checked with Bailey and it would be possible to install a twin lens reversing camera to the vehicle but this would be a retailer fit option.
Superb, but then I may be biased as I have just purchased one! Fit and finish was better than many other UK built vehicles as was the attention to detail.
Enjoy your new Autograph Stewart.
There’s no mention of the new rear lounge model?
Saw at NEC !
Thanks for the extra information Michael. That model might not have been ready at the launch event.
Look looks nice but still no automatic
