So, in last month’s poll, we asked motorhome owners for their favourite season to go on their touring holidays.
And it was no surprise that “all-year-round” topped the polls with a 44 per cent share of the votes. It’s great to see that lots of you like to make use of your leisure vehicle as much as possible throughout the year.
Autumn touring pipped Spring to the second most popular season for motorhoming with 32 per cent of the votes vs 30 per cent, although some owners couldn’t decide and opted for more than one season.
Summer came in fourth place with almost a quarter of the votes and Winter sat at the bottom of the polls with just three per cent of the overall votes.
Your favourite motorhome season comments
Andrew told us Autumn had always been his favourite season for motorhome holidays.
“Probably because I used to have to work during the summer months and didn’t get the chance to get away,” he said. “Also, the summer sun has not quite lost its heat but the brightness has cooled down. Even now we get away for at least three seasons I still look forward to the Autumn trips more.”
Jon Benson said Spring was his favourite motorhoming season.
“Seeing all the new buds and flowers awaking from the winter, everything is fresh and we need to get going for the new year after planning our trips over the winter,” commented Jon. “We do enjoy rest of the year but summer in the UK gets rather busy, so we’re choosy where we go, always lots of planning and listing. Autumn are final flings, as is winter, weather-dependant always but shorter trips.”

Very surprised that autumn and spring are more popular than summer. Perhaps it’s because the summer season is so busy everywhere and more expensive!
Statistics don’t say that people don’t like going away in the Summer – just that they go all year, which is what I do. I still love going away in the Summer !
