The August Bank Holiday is this coming Monday (29th) and lots of caravan and motorhome enthusiasts will be taking advantage of the three day weekend and hitting the English countryside or seaside in their ‘van. For those people who are interested in buying a caravan or motorhome the long weekend is also the perfect opportunity to visit some dealerships and compare the different sizes, models and price ranges that are available.
The roads are inevitably going to be busier over the Bank Holiday Weekend so be sure to set off early and give yourself plenty of time in case there’s traffic – listen out for any traffic reports which mention your area, and plan an alternative route in advance in case you hit particularly bad jams. If possible avoid travelling too far afield as whilst there may be dealerships further away offering good deals it’s always a good idea to buy reasonably local, that way the dealer is better positioned to offer you good after sales service or help should you have any problems. At the same time we appreciate that the best deal isn’t always the closest.
Many dealerships will be running special offers over the weekend so have a look online or ring round before you set off, that way you’ll have all the information ready and will know what some of the best deals are, before you even set foot on the forecourt. This puts you in an excellent position to get a caravan or motorhome for a good price and also takes the stress out of viewing the vans as you know you aren’t missing a good deal elsewhere.
When looking for a caravan or motorhome it’s important you keep an open mind, so whilst it’s important that you know your basic requirements such as how many berths you need, don’t limit yourself to one manufacturer or layout. If you go in with an open mind then you’ll have a much better chance of finding a caravan or motorhome that is right for you.
