Typically continental, this compact tourer from Germany’s Knaus does everything a bit differently.
In this video we take a walkthrough the 2025 Knaus Sport 450 FU caravan:
It’s a four-berth caravan, with its main bed – a French (i.e. cutaway, with maximum dimensions 2m x 1.38m) permanent double in the front nearside corner.
The entrance door stays on the UK offside. The lounge – with U-shaped seating that turns into a double bed – is at the back. And it’s all on Knott running gear, with 17in alloy wheels.
Should this put you off? Not really. You’re just as likely to be impressed by the overall build quality, even if this Sport caravan line-up counts as budget for Knaus.
That starts with the solid main door, although one of the key indicators that the interior is going to be that bit different is the single, offset front window. There’s still a large front locker here, however.
Next to that permanent front double bed, there’s a somewhat slim washroom, with solid door access. There’s a Dometic swivel-bowl toilet at the far end here, along with a showerhead that clips to the ceiling, but just the one plughole below.
Also in here is shelving along the back wall, plus a window for all-important ventilation, and a drop-down rail for hanging any wet clothing.
There’s a handbasin angled just outside the washroom, with open shelving above and locker storage below.
That rear lounge is commendably large, albeit cushion comfort isn’t the most reassuring. Occupants of the Knaus Sport 450 FU caravan sit around a free-standing table – again, so much sturdier than we’ve come to expect in the UK. It still means windows to three sides, ditto for high-level lockers, with open corner shelving and reading lights on stalks.
The kitchen is mid-‘van nearside, with a three-ring gas hob and a small but deep sink nestling to its immediate left.
There’s a Dometic 98-litre fridge directly under the hob, with two drawers and a floor locker next to it – the isolator valves for gas appliances are conveniently located in the top drawer.
In truth the kitchen facilities inside the Knaus Sport 450 FU caravan are a bit tight, leaving little space for storage or indeed worktop – but again, that’s a European, thing, where the general expectation is you’ll do most of your cooking outdoors.
Even the heater is somewhat unusual (for the UK). It’s Truma’s S3004 model, and it runs on gas as standard (with electric optional). It sits below the wardrobe (which offers plenty of hanging space), with the bonus that some of your clothes will get to feel a bit of heat in such an arrangement. Water heating is also down to Truma, with a gas-only system and a 10-litre boiler.
The furniture may be flat-fronted, but it manages to look contemporary, and again the hinges and catches are good quality. There’s pre-wiring for a TV too.
As ever with imported leisure vehicles – in particular those from Germany – there’s a massive range of factory-fitted optional extras to tick off before you get to the specification that’s right for you – not forgetting the final price, of course. The usual advice applies, start with the Packages for best value. The Plus Package featured in the example here includes a large, opening rooflight, flyscreen for the door, heavy-duty corner steadies, a load display for the jockey wheel and self-adjusting brakes, coming in at £681.
And, if the Knaus Sport 450 FU floorplan is a bit scary, do note there are nine other Sport caravan models in the range, ranging in berths from three to six.

Who on earth provides the weirdly unpleasant noise, surely Knaus deserve better (or did the brief confuse Knaus for Noise)
Apologies you didn’t like the music David
