The 2025 season sees Coachman loading up its big guns with its six-model Laser Xtra caravan line-up.
Loading up the big guns
The 845 here is a twin axle caravan with full-width body and a layout that majors on an L-shaped lounge at the front and an island double bed at the back, set in what can only be described as a full-size bedroom with full en-suite facilities. In this video we take you on a walkthrough of the 2025 Coachman Laser 845 Xtra caravan:
The island bed is a comfortable 1.88m x 1.43m. It’s retractable and is flanked by wardrobes with short ledges over the floor-level lockers, with windows to both sides and a Heki rooflight overhead.
Reading lamps on stalks have USB sockets and – like the rest of the interior – there’s no shortage of ambient lighting at all levels. It’s all set up for TV watching from bed, too.
Up front, the “L” shape to the lounge means there’s wall space for the large Avtex flatscreen TV on the nearside. It’s a logical arrangement, especially if you use an awning that would otherwise block off any views out on this side anyway.
The shelf below the TV area is home to a wireless charging pad, while the reading lights include USB portals.
There’s a free-standing table for daytime use, stowing in its own locker when not needed. A Pioneer stereo system completes the entertainment offerings – it has DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity, with speakers front and rear. And that seating – with its higher-than-average backrests and multiple scatter cushions – is every bit as comfortable as it looks.
There’s a slight “L” to the main kitchen unit on the offside, mid-‘van. As you’d expect, there’s a full cooker here (dual-fuel hob, separate oven and grill), with extractor unit, plus a flatbed microwave oven – it’s set over the hob, which might not please all chefs.
The circular sink is inset, with a loose cover in the same granite-style material as the rest of the worktop, plus its flip-up extension.
Storage is also excellent – including a trio of drawers and a locker that houses slide-out chrome-plated racking.
The Thetford fridge/freezer across the corridor of the Coachman Laser 845 Xtra caravan has a total 159-litre capacity.
Next to this, the shower cubicle is accessed via a single door.
Surprisingly, there’s just the one plughole (is Coachman trying to push you towards its self-levelling system option?), but among the pluses are the shower is on a riser bar, the cubicle is plastic-lined, with a couple of moulded shelving sections, and it’s on the wheelarch so you’ve got somewhere to place your feet for easy washing.
There’s a separate toilet room opposite the shower, with the usual facilities to close it all off and create a full-width washroom-cum-dressing area.
It’s a Thetford swivel-bowl toilet here, plus countertop handbasin with a chunky mixer tap, along with a ladder radiator, a large expanse of mirror, opaque window and more.
Storage here includes a low-level locker under the basin and a double locker over the window.
Safety and security features abound on the 2025 Coachman Laser 845 Xtra – Al-Ko’s ATC, Al-Ko Secure wheel locks, Moving Intelligence (formerly Phantom) Vanguard alarm etc, for a healthy caravan insurance discount with Caravan Guard.
You’ve also got the usual upmarket fittings such as Alde central heating, Teleco Teleplus TV aerial with FM and DAB reception, an on-board 40-litre fresh water tank, as well as details such as reading lights, locker handles and more in black.
There’s a proud air to the Laser. It’s got that current Coachman look, with its front end including flush-fitting triple window plus fixed sunroof and opening rooflight arrangement, two low-level lockers, plus grab handles, lower skirting and other details also picked out in black.
The only slight surprise for a tourer of this level is the side windows are top-hung rather than flush-fitting. In short, the 2025 Coachman Laser 845 Xtra caravan lacks for little.

Verdict: Premium tourer from the top drawer
Plus: Superior build quality and interior space, comfort and equipment, twin axle stability
Minus: Only the one plughole for the shower, microwave location won’t suit all
In-a-nutshell: Laser-like focus on luxury
Alternatives: Buccaneer Barracuda, Swift Elegance Grande 860
