Not exactly an all-new model for 2023, but an already impressive tourer with a significant change to its floorplan.
The clean machine!
This latest Coachman Laser 665 caravan – a twin axle and one of four models in the Laser line-up for season 2023 – has one of the most impressive washrooms you’ll find in any tourer in terms of its space as well as its facilities. There’s a bigger wardrobe, too.
The layout stays largely the same as before, though, with its twin rear single beds and traditional parallel settees front lounge. There’s always going to be a bit of a corridor effect with a floorplan like this, but the 665 is a long unit and every living zone manages to feel roomy.
In this video we take a look around the 2023 Coachman Laser 665 caravan:
That washroom, then. It starts off with shower cubicle on one side of the corridor to the bedroom, toilet room on the other. When it suits, solid doors separate all these facilities from the bedroom and kitchen/lounge areas – at the same time creating a full-width, fully enclosed washroom area.
On the nearside is a very generously proportioned shower cubicle (plastic-lined, with single door access). Its location, directly over the axle, means you have a handy footrest when you’re showering.
That equally generous wardrobe – full-height and set over three drawers that will doubtless also be used for clothes – is next to the shower directly opposite the toilet, next to which is a countertop handbasin.
Here, you’ll also find an opaque window and a heated towel rail in white, the latter being part of the Alde central heating system and an upgrade over earlier models.
All this still leaves plenty of room for a very well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge, with sprung-interior seating.
At the very front of the Coachman Laser 665, the bulkhead includes a phone charger pad and a Pioneer stereo system that includes a DAB radio (with extra speakers in the bedroom).
There’s a full-width, fixed sunroof over the three-windowed front (all-opening) and a large rooflight directly over the lounge, too.
The kitchen stretches along the offside, mid-‘van. It’s slightly L-shaped, to enhance worktop space (there’s also a flip-up extension) as well as storage below. The microwave oven location directly over the hob won’t be favoured by all.
Locker doors here have a gloss finish to distinguish them from the other areas of the ‘van. Other kitchen storage includes slide-out racking and handy details extend to two mains sockets that are set a decent distance apart from each other.
Across the corridor, even the fridge/freezer is on a grand scale – a Dometic 10.5T model with a total capacity of 153 litres.
At night, the bedroom’s fixed singles are 1.91m long, separated by a chest of (two) drawers and a mirror on the back wall. Upper-level lockers are along the three sides of this sleeping area.
There are two more sleeping berths at the front, where the single beds arrangement is more suited to children (one is just 1.51m long) although you can make a generous transverse double (maximum dimensions are 2.07m x 1.39m).
There’s a distinctive, unmistakable Coachman look to the exterior of the Laser 665 caravan – silver sides, black trim, two front lockers etc – and the 665 benefits from a number of upgrades across the Laser range for 2023. That includes a new extractor fan and splash panel for the kitchen, new-style countertop basin in the washroom etc.
That adds to pre-existing luxuries such as soft-close drawers, reading lamps with a night-light setting, floor-level lighting, external shower point, chrome-plated taps, Status 570 TV aerial and more.
A 10-year water ingress warranty tells you all you need to know about the faith Coachman has in its caravans. And with two Al-KO Secure wheel locks, a Phantom PIR alarm and ATC fitted as standard, you’ll save some money on your caravan insurance premium – even more, if you add an approved caravan tracking device!
Verdict: Revised washroom makes for a clean winner
Plus: Premium build quality, generous specification, that washroom
Minus: It’s a bit of a heavyweight
In-a-nutshell: Twin axle luxury with a big premium on the washroom area

Very good review. Perhaps I am biased as I have 2022 Laser 665, which I rate as fantastic.
Very disappointed that wc and shower are in the same room. When will caravan manufacturers realise a wc can be housed separately
