The Swift Sprite Major 4 SB is a new model for 2015 and was shown for the first time at NEC caravan show.
This four berth features a fixed island double bed with a Duvalay “Duvalite” memory foam mattress, wardrobes and storage each side of the bed as well as under the bed. A triangular corner unit has a TV and mains power point with a cupboard below and a mirror-fronted cupboard above.
The end shower room is accessed by a space saving sliding door and has a square shower with a space saving bi-fold door, Thetford C260 cassette toilet and limited storage for four people, but this layout is normally used by a couple as a luxury two-berth.
The model seen featured a factory fitted panoramic front sunroof to add extra light to the living area. Costing an additional £375, the accompanying blind is perfect for keeping the sun out on warm summer days.
The living end is standard parallel seating with a centre chest of drawers and a front shelf pod with two mains electric sockets in front of the one-piece front window. The model seen had the optional Darwin upholstery which adds to the price.
The offside kitchen has cream locker doors, a granite sink with a removable drainer and to compensate for a short worktop there is a worktop extension. A three burner hob, with oven and grill is standard, but the microwave is part of the Diamond package.
Aralie Sen wood grain cabinets with chrome handles are standard with complementary cream locker doors in the kitchen as a contemporary touch.
Lighting and green credentials include LED lighting throughout, and an Ecocamel shower head which saves water.
Exterior design features include fixing points for a rear mounted cycle rack, a new style one-piece exterior door and semi-recessed awning rails on both sides.
In terms of security, Swift’s Diamond Pack is available for £475 and includes security features such as the AL-KO AKS 3004 stabiliser and AL-KO Secure wheel lock. Both will help to reduce the cost of caravan insurance.
Verdict
Island beds offer a practical layout, making it easier for both people to get in and out of bed, but it is just 4ft 4ins wide although 6ft 1ins long at night. Having a self-powered TRACKER alarm is included as standard is also a huge plus!

Hi,I have a 2015 (JULY) swift sprite major 4sb.The spec says that it has cycle mounting rack bars but I dont see any. Is this an over-sight by Swift,if so do I have any re-dress?
Thanks,Bruce
It might be that it’s an optional extra Bruce. Best to speak to your dealer or you can contact Swift direct via this link: https://www.swiftgroup.co.uk/about/contact-us
With the diamond pack, I would like too know how the tracker alarm works and is there a yearly charge.
Could you also explain how the AL KO secure wheel lock operates, is there a fitting for the lock to key lock onto.
Thank you
Hi John,
Many thanks for getting in touch. We actually produced a guide on AL-KO locks last year. Click here to take a look.
Hope this helps.
Lucie
Why don’t one of the manufacturers build a fixed bed that can be pivited up against the wall and become a table and seating arrangement so can be used day and night
Great idea Peter!
Any More Photos!
Hi Raymond, there are more photos of the Sprite SB on Swift’s website, see here to take a look.
