The Elddis Affinity 540 has a common and popular layout with an end shower room, fixed double bed with wardrobes and vanity area opposite an offside kitchen and parallel sofas that convert to a double bed.
The fixed double bed has a mattress that uses OZIO Coolsoft technology. The wardrobe has 170° hinges to allow easy access and three hanging rails make good use of the space available. A power point is conveniently sited near the vanity area and under that is the freestanding table store.
A new design granite effect sink in black also features. Called ‘Night Sky’, it dominates the kitchen and sits within the worktop against a cream splashback. If you need more worktop space then there is a worktop extension.
In the shower room, heating is provided by a wall mounted radiator, an integral part of the ALDE hot water and heating system, with additional heating convector ducts.
The cupboards are “Reno Walnut” with contrasting cream borders outlined in chrome and the standard soft furnishings are Chivago which features aubergine as the main colour but uses OZIO high performance construction for the seat backs and bases; it’s a safe and traditional look.
The kitchen/living area feels spacious and the designers have made good use of the interior space. In the living area, the feature is the Sky-Scape panoramic sunroof with integral ambient lighting and pleated blind.
Green credentials include 100% LED lighting, which certainly conserves battery consumption, and an exclusive Ecocamel Orbit water-saving Halo shower head, for water conservation.
There is an external gas BBQ point and Affinity is fitted with a high flow submersible pump which uses Whale IC intelligent control and in-line filter which turns the pump off when the water runs out; you can bet you’d be in the shower at the time!
Verdict
We love the spacious feel of the kitchen and living area. If you don’t care for the upholstery there are two other options available, at a cost. The weight of the caravan is interesting; note the noseweight of 100kgs so check your tow vehicle’s maximum nose weight limit carefully before you buy.
We advise that you add optional extra security features such as the AL-KO Secure wheel lock and TRACKER and this will improve the cost of your insurance.
