The Coachman VIP 575/4 is a new layout for 2015. It has a transverse island bed, end washroom, offside kitchen and parallel front sofas that convert to a double bed.
The kitchen has a black bowl with a very contemporary chrome-look square tap and the bowl has a lift-up smoked glass lid; a horizontally striped splash back, again it’s modern, but fits the interior design brief.
The oven, hob and grill are a new style and have moved away from the traditional and familiar look.
The transverse island bed is the feature of the caravan, with wardrobes and storage each side of it; there is “daytime” mode for the bed, by pushing the mattress back creating a wider space at the foot of the bed.
A striking feature is the large window; choose your pitch carefully to enjoy a view, but the top edge of the window is softened by a decorative pelmet.
The end shower room has a large shower; look carefully and you’ll see two small drain holes in the rim on the lower edge of the door allowing water to run down the door and into the shower tray when the shower door is open.
There is also plenty of storage space, a Belfast sink, and a radiator for the new Alde fully controllable heating and hot water system.
The front end is a sumptuous living area with an entertainment system comprising a radio/CD/MP3 system, dual speakers and a television point.
The soft furnishing scheme is a blend of traditional and modern and harmonises surprisingly well with the new style curved shape “Noce Lido” locker doors contrasted by “Grey Moves” locker doors in the kitchen. Strange names, aren’t they?
An Ecocamel shower head saves water in the shower room and an 80w roof mounted solar panel are suitable concessions to energy saving.
On the exterior is a BBQ point and an external cold water shower; this is not a caravan to enter with your muddy boots on!
Verdict
It’s for those who appreciate the luxurious type of caravanning all year round. It’s a tried and tested layout, popular with those who like a fixed bed as it saves waking your partner in the “wee” small hours, but make sure the length of the bed suits you. A range of security and safety devices are included such as an alarm and AL-KO’s Secure axle wheel lock plus AL-KO’s ATC electronic anti snaking system.

We’very had our coachman 575 for one year. Been around UK & France. This is our third van & without any exaggeration this is our best van by a clear county mile. Furthermore wwith are so pleased with it we have full intentions on keeping it indefinitely. There is nothing not to like. Ticks every box even for the most discerning. We pull it with a Scoda superb 4 x 4 which makes the whole towing experience a delight.
Top marks from me for the van. You won’t regret investing in one.
