The Lunar Lexon 470 is a new two-berth caravan for 2014. The layout is pretty standard with an end shower room, offside kitchen and parallel seating with a centre chest of drawers in the lounge area. The cabinet colour throughout is a rich, warm chestnut.
The kitchen features high gloss black finishes to the hob, oven, grill, fridge and the round sink is also black with a black and chrome tap but there is a glossy cream splash back to lighten the look. The work tops are cream coloured which also brightens the kitchen. The microwave is standard and is next to the eye level lockers. Opposite the kitchen is a neat sideboard with a mains socket and TV point and a mirror which does reflect the light into the kitchen.
The sliding door into the shower room is space-saving, hence the apparent size of the kitchen and shower room. A striking feature of the shower room is the contemporary chrome radiator, which snakes up the wall, for the Alde wet central heating system; have a look at it and seen what we mean! The shower is square with two useful shelves and has a one piece clear door. The wardrobe was a good size and there was more storage under the sink.
The living area has what’s called “Cavani” soft furnishings; the base colour is grey with lighter and darker flecks, seat backs are a grey tartan design which also edges the seat cushions and feature on the arm rests. Scatter cushions are the same fabric and are contrasted with black cushions; this does harmonise with the kitchen colour scheme and the stone colour drop-in thick pile carpets.
The sofas make up into a bed measuring 6ft1ins x 6ft 11ins and that’s very generous. The width if used as single beds is 2ft 5ins. There are two dining options; you can use the table integral with the chest of drawers or the free standing one.
Security features include an alarm, Al-KO AKS stabiliser, AL-KO ATC trailer control, Al-KO Secure receiver. Given the price of this caravan, you might well want to consider adding an AL-KO Secure wheel lock as extra security. The exterior graphics are simple and the full height curved front panel is sleek and complements the exterior well.
Verdict: Having seen this caravan at an outdoor caravan show on a grey and dreary early autumn day in a well shaded part of the showground, we’re not convinced that the grey upholstery was seen at its best advantage.
It is a roomy caravan, especially in the kitchen and shower room so don’t let the upholstery influence your decision and a few bright coloured accessories will lift the appearance greatly. There are plenty of upholstery options available.

This caravan looks nice in photographs but i would have to have a live visual look at it to check it out, before I could give an accurate commenton it.
