The Compass Omega 540 is a new model from Elddis for 2014 with a fixed double bed on the nearside and an end washroom.
The kitchen has a dual fuel hob with an oven and grill complemented by a microwave set in a dedicated housing above a dresser unit opposite the kitchen. The lid to the hob gives additional work space but to be fair, work space is not really a downfall here. There are 3 eye level lockers and base units for all that you’d need and a decent sized fridge. The splash back is very practical and should be easy to wipe clean. The illuminated cocktail cabinet, a few people didn’t see it when I was sitting in the caravan, has a smoked glazed door and room for just the essentials.
The upholstery fitted as standard is called Moonlight Tweed, the clue’s in the name, with coordinated scatter cushions and plain curtains with contrast border and tie back. If brown’s not your colour then there are two other options available both of which harmonise with the Noce Prosecco cabinets. The bamboo effect vinyl floors are covered with drop in carpets.
The parallel sofas in the living area make up into a generously sized double bed measuring 6ft 8ins x 5ft 3ins; meaning you might need social media to communicate with your partner! The chest of drawers has an integral table, ideal for two people to use and the free standing table is stored in a convenient cupboard in the kitchen.
The fixed bed, by contrast is 6ft 3ins x 4ft 3ins. There is a handy TV point and bracket, three over bed lockers and a wardrobe in which there is some loss of space for clothes hangers due to the Alde compact boiler.
The shower room has a remarkably spacious square shower with a bi-fold space saving door.
We were pleased to see energy saving LED lighting which can save up to 80% battery consumption and LED high level break lights. Heating and hot water is generated by the Alde wet system with a 24 hour programmable timer using an LCD touch screen control panel. The Compass Omega is a single axle model built with sports alloy wheels on an Al-KO chassis with AL-KO ATC as standard. As security measures, an Al-KO Secure receiver and a PIR alarm system are standard.
Verdict
