The Coachman Laser 620 twin axle four berth caravan is top of the range…
…and has many new features for 2014. It has an end washroom, offside dinette, nearside kitchen and parallel seating in the living area.
As you enter the caravan, in front of you, is the brushed stainless steel 175L fridge freezer that’s spacious enough not to have to shop regularly. To the left is the side dinette with three eye level lockers and storage space under each seat. It’s an ideal place to eat at and enjoy a view.
There’s a neat low level divider with a mains socket, television point, shelf and cupboard to the left and then the living area with parallel seating; the back rests are gently curved and give softness, rather than harshness with lots of corners. The chest of drawers is standard, has three drawers and a pull-out table.
The living area…
…is light and spacious thanks to the large panoramic window and to the discerning choice of fabrics for the upholstery; it’s a relaxing and upmarket palate of silver/grey and lavender with aubergine highlights. There is a huge amount of space in the under bed lockers and the area makes up into a double bed; certainly with enough space for bedding in the lockers, but I wonder how many people would leave the bed made up and make great use of the side dinette. We noted the plinth level night lighting and liked it.
The cabinets are walnut, a warm colour which harmonised with the colour scheme. A slimline Avtex television with DVD facility and satellite receiver is included with the purchase.
The kitchen in the Coachman Laser 620 is designed for those who like to cook for two or entertain friends. The worktop space is generous and the appliances include a microwave oven in a dedicated housing, an oven and grill, one piece sink and drainer with a lift-up lid and chopping board and an Omnivent roof light extractor.
A large pull-out rack, four eye-level lockers with a linen look contrasting design and a number of base units will house a load of shopping and the necessary crockery and pans; thankfully this is a twin axle caravan.
The shower room…
…is spacious indeed, and sports a sexy looking black shower tower with LED lighting in the round shower. There’s plenty of room to preen, room for toiletries, and we’ve seen smaller wardrobes and drawers for sale in high street stores! The basin has a cupboard below and a set of open shelves to the right. Another cupboard holds the free standing dining table. Heating is from a radiator and convection.
Green credentials are of increasing importance in caravan design and the Laser 620 has an 80 watt roof mounted solar panel, direct and indirect LED lighting throughout the whole caravan with 12 volt LED reading lights.
For added comfort and practicality there is an under floor insulated 36 litre water tank and Alde central heating system with a digital control panel. The exterior key fob also controls the awning light.
Security features are always important and this caravan has two AL-KO Secure portable wheel locks, AL-KO ATC system (active trailer control), a remote control alarm system with PIR and tilt sensors and Phantom Pro-3 satellite tracking system.
Verdict: The Coachman Laser 620 is top of the range in luxury and style – a perfect escape for two adults.

Bought this caravan in July as our first ever van, picked this model as we don’t like fixed beds as they take up far to much valuable space. It is extremely well made and well worth the money.
What a cracking caravan in everyway possible
Recently had a 100 watt solar panel fitted to my 2008 Laser, and having had a look at most new 2015 models, I wouldn’t change mine for any of them. The spec I have is perfect! Loving it !
Just took delivery what a cracking van we thought our Fleetwood Heritage eb was the bees knees but the coachman Laser blinds it we are over the moon didn’t want fixed bed takes up too much room in my opinion.
We had a fixed bed Laser and loved it, but changed to a Bessacarr with an island bed. Now in our 60s we would rather have the convenience of our own sides to get in and out of bed. If Coachman designed something similar we would change back. Also isn’t it time we had a quality caravan with slides?
Hi Serena,
That sounds likes a sensible option. The most recent slide out we can remember is the Eterniti Genesis, click here for details.

The 640/4 is the better option with fixed bed. I have a 2008 version and apart from the 2014 innovations it’s by far the best quality van on the market
I’m don’t think that the reviewer’s assertion is right that this is a good van for 2 adults. It’s better suited to young families without teenage children.
I’ve bought the 2014 Laser 640/4 and the fixed bed is a much better option for my wife and I and our teenage girls use the front seats made up to two single beds. Later, when we are on our own the front seats can be left as seats; much more convenient.
Looks a beautiful van with all mod cons but I’ll stick with my perfect model of 2008. It has everything I need, fixed bed and air con
All that and no fixed bed, what a waste.
